Saint Patrick's Day is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17th March each year. It is Ireland’s national holiday and it is celebrated in more countries than any other national holiday in the world.

The St Patrick's Day Parade committee welcome visitors to the town for the annual parade and festivities. This is an action-packed fun day for all the family, young and old.
The 2017 Newport St Patrick’s Day celebrations will take place on Friday 17th March. The parade kicks off at 2.30pm and festivities will run all day long. With lots of
colourful floats and a marching band it is an event packed with family fun, music and entertainment.
There will be a large range of post parade activities such as ceol, damhsa, fun, face-painters and street performers. In the evening pubs and restaurants will offer live music. Newport is one of the best places to experience the rich culture of Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day thanks to the friendly and welcoming local people, who know how to keep the traditional way of celebrating the festival alive.
